A Renaissance building from the second half of the 16th Century which was later remodelled into Baroque (Rococo) style. Located in Josefov. It has unusual architectural features of the Jewish Ghetto. Mostly known for its unusual clock, which has Hebrew figures and with the hands they move counter-clockwise.
The Jewish Town Hall dates back to the 16th century but additions were made up to the 18th century. One of which is the Rococo facade. This facade includes a clock tower with remarkable Hebrew figures as well as an additional clock with Roman symbols.
What makes the clock with Hebrew figures so remarkable is that unlike any other clock, this clock moves the other direction. It has been said that this is because Hebrew is read from right to left instead of left to right.
