The Lesser Town has much to offer in spite of its name. Located within the Lesser Town is Nerudova street, Lesser Town Square, St. Nicholas Cathedral, Wallenstein Palace,Church of St. Thomas,Vrtba Garden, Church of Our Lady Victorious, Maltese Square, Kampa Island, Charles Bridge, Vojan Park, and the Petřín Hill. Each location makes a contribution to the reputation that makes Prague the capital of Bohemia.

Lesser town began in 1257. The location is right under the Prague Castle. During the lapsed time it hasn't changed much other than a few buildings here and there have been constructed. The baroque palaces and old houses is what makes this part a must-see.

The center of the Lesser town is Malostranske square. Located here is the St. Nicholas Cathedral, Town Hall, Sternberg Palace, and the Smiřický Palace. Now located in the Malostranske square is a number of official businesses as well as cafes and the easiest place to get on or off the tram for the Charles Bridge as well as other parts of the city.
