Křížovnické Square is in
the eastern part of the Charles Bridge. The name is derived from the religious
order with the sign of the Red Cross. The main building in this place is the
Old Town Bridge Tower and the memorial of Charles IV from the Dresden
sculptor Arnošt Háhnel. The memorial was made on the occasion of the 500
anniversary of founding the Charles University.
The northern part of the place
is closed by the Church of St Francis of Assisi, eastern side by the St Salvátore
Church. Křížovnické náměstí is thanks to its location one of the busiest
places in Prague.
