A unique walk through time capturing the development of the art of clockmaking from the16th century to modern times, from renaissance to art nouveau.
The collection of over 650 exhibits (currently the largest clock exhibition in our country) features clocks from all over the world. The clockmaking countries England, France, Germany, Austro-Hungary, Holland and Italy represent the biggest part of the collection, but clocks from China, Japan and the USA are also to be seen.
The exhibition includes time machines of all types and sizes, from pocket and wrist chronometers, alarm clocks, table and wall clocks, to so-called floor clocks and tower machines.
You will see pieces by famous and anonymous clockmakers. You will get to know all wooden mechanisms as well as glockenspiels, automatons and the most precise regulators. You will enjoy rural clocks, clocks made for town households, castles.
A clock workshop with various machines, instruments and devices necessary for the manufacture of any clock type in the past is also a part of the exhibition.
