The view of the Rosenberg Palace looks similar to many colleges within the United States. The palace grounds hold beautiful trees lining a walking path through the palace garden. The Palace itself has three above ground stories. At first impression the size of the house is much like other palaces in Prague with one major exception. Rosenberg palace is more of a modern style of building compared to the Gothic or Renaissance style of architecture that is more common.
During the fire of 1541 much of the Lesser town and Hradcany was destroyed. The solution to the scorched area was rebuilding, this included the Rosenberg Palace. The newer Rosenberg Palace was enlarged to be made larger than the original. The newer plan included more stories, changing to a newer Romanesque style as well as fortified walls. The garden was built at a later date with the intention of showing that with the changing times the appearance must also change. However, much of the original plans for the palace before the fire has stayed the same only being enlarged with some minor tweaking.
