The last time Depeche Mode visited Prague was three years ago, during their tour with their latest album, Playing the Angel. The trio Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andrew Fletcher played an incredible 87 concerts within the tour, attended by nearly 2 million people. Depeche Mode came to Prague to make their appearance in a sold-out open-air concert in Eden. In a few days, on 14th January, they are returning, this time to the O2 Arena.
In their 28-year career Depeche Mode have sold more than 75 million records and significantly influenced electronic music in the 1980s and 1990s. The band got together in 1980 in Basildon, England and a year later they broke into the charts with a single Just Can't Get Enough from the Speak & Spell album.
The most popular songs by this band - named after a French fashion magazine – include Walkin In My Shoes, Stripped and Enjoy The Silence. Depeche Mode are one of the few prominent world-famous groups who played in the former Czechoslovakia in the communist era, as early as 1988.
