The exhibition dedicated to the heroic victims of the Heydrich terror has been re-opened in the Orthodox Church of St Cyril and Methodius in Resslova Street, Prague. Visitors will be able to examine many new exhibits displayed in the place where the seven heroic Czech paratroopers, who were involved in the assassination of Reichsprotektor Reinhardt Heydrich, did battle against the overwhelming odds of the Nazi troops in 1942.
The crypt of the Orthodox Church of St Cyril and Methodius gained a brand new reverent ambience featuring bronze busts of the paratroopers together with their photographs and life stories. Apart from that, visitors will no doubt be intrigued by period artefacts and original items that were used by the assassins of ReichsprotektorReinhardt Heydrich.
One of the most interesting exhibits is a part of the parachute that used to belong either to Jan Kubiš nebo Jozef Gabčík, the paratroopers from Operation Anthropoid who parachuted into the occupied territory.
The exhibition will be open for visitors from Tuesday to Saturday between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. during winter months, and in summer months between Tuesday and Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The exhibition, which is a continuation of the extensive exhibition Atentát (Assassination) organised by the Military History in Institute in 2002, has been relocated from its original location in the crypt to the anteroom.
