Prague has never seen this before! The scenery for the new musical by director Filip Renč will be projected on the stage with the help of unique technology.
Inspired by the original book by G. A. Bürger, the musical Baron Munchhausen (Baron Prášil) is a celebration of unique human fantasy, which can be sometimes seen as dangerous insanity by those who lack it. The Baron experiences many unbelievable adventures such as the one with a cannon shot, or his encounters in the belly of a whale, sultan’s treasure, a flight through the globe, a sultan’s harem and many others. All these stories will be spliced together with dramatic artistry, special effects, music, text and dance hung on the thread of a quite simple but very strong basic storyline. The Story is full of emotions, thrills and humour and is perfectly understandable for both adult and kids.
Musical for everyone
The director Filip Renč has stated that his musical will be suitable for the whole family. Baron Munchhausen musical was written as a comedy combining songs with humour. The cast is quite an unusual combination of unknown emerging talents and famous people such as Kamil Střihavka, Jiří Langmajer, Kateřina Brožová or Josef Vojek. In the main character, Baron Münchhausen, the performance stars three different actors: Daniel Hůlka, Marián Vojtko and Josef Vojtek. Evelína will be rendered by Kateřina Brožová, Hana Křížková and Marta Jandová.
Stage for 50 million
Minute attention was paid to the stage, in which more than CZK 50 million was invested. As a result we can enjoy wonderful special effects and amazing animations. The 3D technology works in the way that the colourful scenery is projected on grey fragments of a grey set. Thanks to visual and other special effects, the audience will be able to experience an utterly unique scene when the main character is flying above their heads while being seated on cannon shot. Two million crowns have been invested in the costumes; this is not surprising because as there are so many of them, one for each of the baron’s hilarious trips.
