Since the beginning of June, Prague Integrated Transport’s cycle bus route from Dobřichovice to Kytín has a new cycle bus vehicle provided by the carrier Martin Uher.
The bus has no. 1137 and is from the Karosa B 951 range dating from 2003. The three-doored cycle bus is a converted bus that most frequently operates on routes 255 and 314.
Old bus as reserve
The vehicle meets the standards of the Prague Integrated Transport (PIT) – it is equipped with a check-in device, stamping machines, stop announcer, outside and inside panels and a GPS device. The former cycle bus no.1108 (Karosa B 732) from 1987 will be kept as a reserve.
“Both the carrier and ROPID wish cyclists a happy use of the vehicle. We believe that they will be satisfied with the improvement of their comfort and services offered,” said the spokesperson for Ropid, Filip Drápal.
Operation of cycle bus
Every season, the bus on the route transports approx. 1500 bikes and 2000 passengers. The bus operates at weekends and on holidays, four times a day from Dobřichovice Railway Station, where it is connected to S7 trains from the direction of Prague and Beroun. It runs via Mníšek pod Brdy to Kytín. The tariff is the ordinary PIT tariff, where bikes cost 26 CZK. If the passenger presents his train ticket, he or she only pays 13 CZK.
