Public Transport during Summer Holidays

As in previous years, Prague Integrated Transport will be amending their timetables to suit the summer holiday season. The most fundamental changes will be to the school routes which will cease for the summer vacation, other routes will be augmented.

Metro

As opposed to previous years, lines A and B will be offering a lighter service with less frequent metros during afternoon working days. In general, the alterations affect the peak workday periods by about ten to fifteen percent. Line C will experience extended interval on Saturday mornings from 6 am to 7.05 am.

Trams

Tram routes will be additionally affected by the various developments and repairs that are planned for the summer.  Waiting periods will increase on all lines on weekdays. During peak hours the interval will increase from 8 minutes to 10 minutes, in the afternoon this will increase from 10 minutes up to 12 minutes, The main arterial routes will operate every 5 minutes during peak hours and every 6 minutes in the afternoons.

Bus Routes

Most bus routes will reduced only during peak hours by 10 to 15 percent; all school, routes will be cancelled. Route numbers 143, 182, 305, 343, 451 and 465 will not be in service. Selected suburban lines are due to be slightly restricted during peak time working days.

Route 175 will operate only between Florenc and Skalka; route 225 will operate between Nové Butovice and Ciolkovského only. The following school stops will be cancelled: Elišky Přemyslovny and Divoká Šárka. During afternoons the interval time will be marginally extended on workdays on these lines: 107, 131, 135, 136, 155, 167, 176, 193, 213 and 271.

However, there will be additions services on the routes 217 and 261. Route 217 will operate only during work days and 261 will operate every day of the week. Route 236 will be significantly augmented with more frequent services along Podhoří–Zoo–Krakov part of the route, weekend days will have shorter intervals between 9am and 8pm.

“We recommend all Public Transport users to register on the website in order to receive free updates on any further changes.  Three days prior to any change registered users will receive an email informing them of any updates,” said ROPID spokesman Filip Drápal.
