Electronic Public Transport Vouchers Now on Sale at Almost 40 places in Prague.
Electronic public transport time vouchers which can be downloaded onto Opencard are now on sale at almost forty outlets in Prague. Even though you can purchase electronic vouchers over the internet, people still prefer personal customer service.
“The simplest way to obtain Opencard and a public transport voucher is over the internet. You can apply at www.opencard.cz for the card, afterwards it will be delivered by courier and you will be able to purchase a voucher of your choice at the e-shop of the Prague Public Transit Co (eshop.dpp.cz.). Currently around 11 % of vouchers are sold over the e-shop,” said Opencard spokesman Martin Opatrný.
Due to the relatively low sales over the internet, the Prague Public Transit Co has reinforced the sales capacity in all its sales outlets and info-centres. The busiest info-centres selling e-vouchers are Muzeum and Anděl. Conversely the sales outlets where you wait the least amount of time are at the line C metro stations Letňany and Roztyly, line B station Můstek and the one in the building Central Traffic Control (Na Bojišti 5, Prague 2). In Anděl, at the sales outlet in Na Knížecí direction service is also relatively quick. In the course of September, the Prague Public Transit Co will open sales outlets in the line A Hradčanská metro station, where passengers will be able to use up to seven service counters.
There is large public support of the introduction of the service whereby a break in the time validity can be included over holiday periods when the ticket is not being used. Between 1st July and 18th July 2010, a total of 1 607 passengers have used this service.
