The Wenceslas Square, originally called the Horse Market is the most famous Prague cultural and business centre. In fact it is not the real square, it is the boulevard 682 meters long and 60 meters wide, that stretches from the National Museum to Můstek.

The new form of the St Wenceslas statue comes from 1912, from the sculptor Josef Václav Myslbek. The patron of the Czech country i s in the sculptural group accompanied by St Vojtěch, St Prokop, St Ludmilla and St Agnes.
