Close to the Troja castle there is the beautiful Botanic
Garden, founded in 1968 at the area of 130 hectares according
to the plan of t h e ing. Jaroslav Jäger and the first part was
opened for the public in 1992.
Five years later there was built
the Japanese Garden and later on there were built another departments
- in spring 2004 the wine yard of the St Clara and the
tropical glasshouse Fata Morgana. In quite a short time, from the
vegetative point of view there appeared a lot of beautiful plants.
The southern part of t h e garden is closed with the walkway with
a nice view on Troja and Prague, where is located the Chapel of
the St Clara.
The Botanic Garden in Troja is opened to the public
the whole year and through the whole area there goes the
Natural trail marked by
the green-white marks.
It begins near the gate in
the Botanic Garden in the
Nádvorní Street, the length
is approximately 3 kilometres
and ends at the crossroad
of the streets Trojská and Pod
Havránkou. This beautiful nature trail has 11 stops, where
the visitors are informed about
the history and nature of the
Troja and shows some places with
the beautiful sights on Prague.
